avacados and lime

happy cinco de mayo!i think it might be safe to say that i am obsessed with food; i've turned into a downright foodie. so looking for excuses to eat delicious food has become something of a hobby and today is a perfect example. i've always just thought of this day as a taco day. but its more than that; there's a rich history behind it-it marks the day mexican armies defeated french and kept them from conquering the state of puebla. i also read that it is not as celebrated in mexico as it is in the states. either way, have a cerveza anoche; i will be doing so at jav's in woodbury.

  1. it's really nice of the spanish department here to schedule a spanish final at 8 AM the day after cinco de mayo... isn't this contradictory to the purpose to celebrate and remember the independence that was fought for? i think so.
